The recent HOGS golf day was held at Burnham Beeches Golf Club on Wednesday 13th July and thanks again go to Jerry Browne (McAleer & Rushe) for sourcing yet another “hidden gem”. The course was in excellent condition, the food & hospitality we received was top drawer and we all enjoyed the day.
Having our customary HOGS bacon butty breakfast outside in the sunshine was a pleasant welcome and apart from a 20 minute shower early afternoon the weather was kind & shorts were the order of the day for a few of us!
Congratulations go to all the winners particularly the winning team (below) who scored 81 points and comprised; Shaun Talbot (Royal Bank of Scotland), Phil Day (Day & Johnson) & Tim Wheeldon (Zeal Projects)
Congratulations also go to (L to R) Simon Leigh (City & Docklands) for winning the best guest prize and Tim Wheeldon managed to win the members claret jug amid stiff competition from worthy opponents! Jan-Willem Den Ridder (Den Ridder Group) executed a fine shot at the Par 3 10th & won the nearest the pin prize.
The next HOGS golf day of 2016 is on Tuesday 27th September at Beaconsfield Golf Club where Luke Donald was Club Champion while still a junior member! This is another classic Harry Colt designed course, which opened in 1914. Harry Colt designed over 300 courses in his time, including; Stoke Park, Pine Valley (USA), Moor Park, Wentworth & the New Sunningdale course.
