It was windy & there was a splattering of rain but that didn’t deter the 30 HOGS members and 6 guests enjoying a great day at West Herts Golf Club.

West Herts GC is a real “hidden gem” with well designed character holes, exceptional “ironed” greens & hospitality to match. Thank you West Herts & well done to Jerry Browne (McAleer & Rushe) in firstly finding it & secondly booking it again for 2017! Note to self: HOGS Golf Day – Wed 7th June 2017.

Congratulations go to all the winners particularly the winning team (below) who scored 86 points and comprised (L to R); James Devitt (Herald Hotels), Derek Bradstock (Secure Trust Bank), Andrew Weisz (Quest Aparthotels) & Ben Packard (Savills).

The coveted HOGS Claret Jug was won by Steve Edgecombe (DLA Piper) with a well manicured 40 points and I am sure Steve’s flight back to Edinburgh was a happy one! Well played Steve!

Anthony Pell (Gracemark Developments) won the best guest prize and David Hudson (Guildhouse) won the nearest the pin on the 9th hole.

The HOGS driver head cover for the longest drive was won by Tony Clark (Zeal Projects) with a “300 yard boomer” – apparently it was one of the very few drives he hit all day that actually ended up on the fairway so well done Tony.

We are looking forward to the next HOGS golf day that is being played at Burnham Beeches Golf Club, Green Lane, Burnham SL1 8EG on Wednesday 13th July. As mentioned, we are limited to 32 players for this day & therefore places will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Invitations will be sent out w/c 6th June.
